Merry Christmas

On our way to Cody's Christmas party.
Funny story: We got to the party and at the front door they asked to see our ID because there was an open bar. I'm not 21 yet! So after I promised I wouldn't drink and they put a HUGE black X on both of my hands, they let me in.
Boone opening his present:)
Cody and I celebrated Christmas a day early so we didn't have to travel with all our presents. I got him a 46" TV and PS3. He spoiled me with rock band, a juicer (which I have wanted for a long time) and a really cool watch to wear when I'm working out to tell me my heart rate and calories burned.
Christmas Eve we traveled to Grand Junction to spend Christmas with my family. It was so fun! Here are a few pics from the trip.
Acting out the nativity scene. Here is Thomas dressed up as a wiseman.
Me and Nicholas as Mary and Joseph.
Christmas Morning!
Sledding accident. Scariest thing I have ever witnessed. I'm so glad he is ok.
Nerf gun war

Another accident. Poor Nicholas

Cutest little girl ever! My dog Boone loved her:) He followed her around everywhere.

Over all Christmas was wonderful(minus the sledding accident).
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!!

Poor Boone got really really sick last week. It was so sad. He is kind of like our kid, we are very attached to him. It was about 7:00 at night, Cody was still at work and I was cooking dinner, I realized Boone wasn't in the kitchen with me, that usually means he is up to no good. So I went around the house and tried to find him. The poor puppy was just laying on the floor:( I instantly knew something was wrong with him. He was acting like he was in so much pain, and was trying to throw up. He didn't want me to pick him up. I called the vet and asked what to do. They told me to bring him in. So I rushed him to the animal emergency room. The vet asked me if he had eaten anything other than his dog food recently. So I started naming her everything he had gotten into just this week; lets see on Monday he chewed up a plastic sword and ate it, then Tuesday morning he somehow got onto the kitchen table and destroyed 6 roses Cody had gotten me, Wednesday he ate a rock, and also got into about 200 hair pins, not sure if he had eaten one. The doctor was like wow, he is quite the dog. She was pretty sure if the rock, or bobby pins were still in his stomach we would need to operate. She estimated the this was going to cost $ 2,000+. I started to cry, because I didn't want to have to pay that kind of money for my dog. He had a fever of 103.5 and was extremely dehydrated. Luckily the x-ray showed no bobby pins or rock. After they put some fluid back in him through a shot we were able to take him home and just watch him and bring him back in the morning.
When we got him home that night he threw up and there was a rock!! He ended up getting better and he is now back to himself:)

He had to wear the collar of shame, so he wouldn't rip out his IV

Cody, his brother and dad got to go to the Broncos game, Front Row!!!

Halloween just isn't the same, I miss going trick or treating and getting all that candy. I cant wait until I have kids to take:) This year we went to a Halloween party at one of our friends house. We had a great time and it was fun to see everyone dress up. Cody as a Skyline Football Coach and me as a Skyline Football player.
Im pretty sure if I was a FB player I would have to be the one throwing the ball, because I can not catch a ball to save my life.
He makes a pretty cute coach:)
YEAH I got a PIANO! It's my mother in laws, who let me borrow it while we are renting the farm house.
This is how Mr. Boone has been sleeping. He is so funny

Labor day weekend. Its was so fun and really rainy!

All wet from the rain.
He did not like the rain! While we were in a hurry to pack up our stuff, we didn't realize Boone was afraid of the rain. He was hiding under the truck and would not come out, not even for a treat. So I had to crawl under there and pull him out. Then he just hid at the bottom of my feet.
Boone did not want a picture! I had to hold him there and he was freaking out.
All pets had to be tied up, he did have 30ft leash but he manage to shorten it to about 1ft.

Cody hanging out by the fire.

I was reading my sister in law's blog and she did a post on her memories of fire fighting. So I was looking through my old pics and decided to share some of my photos and memories.

Engine 626 aka junk show. We named it junk show because it was a piece of junk. We would be driving down the road and our bins would plop open. It was so hard to start that pump!! It would only go about 70 mph and any faster I felt like it was going to blow up. And many many other problems, but I loved that engine! Oh and my engine buddies Branden and Daniel, they were like brothers to me.
This is a picture I took after a fire burned through. This is one of my favorite pictures! I think I might frame it.
BIGGEST FIRE EVER! This was one of the very few times I felt like I was in danger. When a fire gets this close to you and it is this big, you need to get out of there FAST. Which we did. It was so loud, almost sound like a huge train flying past.
I didn't cut down this tree, but I did cut down quite a few others. If anyone wants an amazing arm work out, cut down a few trees. I promise you will get results.
A lot of times when we got called on fires we had to do work like this. We had to clear out every dead tree in this area. It was so hot and really hard work. I don't really miss this part of the job. We worked on this project 16 hr days and 7 days a week trying to get it cleared out before the fire reached it....UGH

This is Lydia, one of the few girls who was on my crew. I love her! We had a great time together.

So all together my fire fighting experience was amazing. I always get butterflies when I start talking about fire fighting. I think it's because I always got them when we would pull up to a fire. I learned so much about fire and hard work. I worked harder than I ever thought possible. I never knew a person could get so dirty, I would be black from head to toe with only my feet clean because of my socks. And you would be blowing out black boogers for weeks. lol TMI sorry.
Well I could tell you story after story but I'll leave it at this, it was a great summer and experience...
