Basement Decor

For Christmas, family always gives us money. We usually just put it right into savings and there it sits. This year I really wanted to spend it. I talked Cody into letting me start on decorating the basement. Our basement is huge and has potential but for the last three years it has looked a little sad. It had a couch and tv in it. I really didn't go down there much unless I was in the salon or watching a show with Cody.
Here is a pic of what it looked like before.
(Don't you love the two stools stacked on top of each other with the tv antenna on it :)

Before...
My first priority was to paint. I was so tired of all the white so I chose a light sage green color. I really do love the color of the paint. I have two friends that have the same color in their basement.
Next was the rug. When it came it was a lot more blue than the paint. But I think it works. Plus I got way too good of a deal on it to return it. I dont think I could find another rug that cheap that I like.

Then the next step was that entertainment center. Our house was foreclosed and when they left they took part of the built-in entertainment center. So pretty much my only choice was to hire someone to do it.
I am so glad I did. I almost attempted to do it myself but I have absolutely know idea what I would have been doing. I'm sure it would have been a huge mess.
I LOVE how it turned out.

This room seriously makes me smile now. I am downstairs so much more. I actually will go down there to be on the computer or to have Coop play.

And now the next step is this!! I have big plans for a play area for the kiddos. But I have run out of budget so it will be on hold until I can talk Cody into it:)

Christmas 2012

I LOVE Christmas!! This year we stayed in CO. We had such a good break from work. But we all got a cold that knock us down for a few days. So we did a lot of movies and hanging out around the house.
I have decided Christmas is funnest with kids:) I was beyond exited for Cooper to get some of his gifts and to see his reaction. We all got so spoiled.
Cooper with santa at our ward Christmas party. He was so exited when he say him. He yelled oh ho ho and started chasing him. As we got in line and neared him he got a bit nervous but all I had to say was Santa has a treat for you and he hoped right up onto his lap. So cute. This little kid has no stranger danger at all.
We did two different Chrismas's. We open presents at our house on Christmas eve and then slept at Cody's parents house that night and did Christmas morning with them.

Again, I am so bad at taking photos. I did take one of our late night games. So fun!

Thanksgiving 2012

Oh man I can barely remember Thanksgiving it feels like so long ago.
We got to go to Utah!! It was so fun. The whole family came home and it was awesome. We did Thanksgiving day at my grandparents in Richfield and it was great. I think there was over 60 people there. I love catching up with all of my cousins and Aunts and Uncles.  The rest of the week we chilled at my parents house playing games, played with all the kiddos, caught up with old friends, swimming, working out and lots of eating. Here are a few photos from a little photo shoot Jen did for us. They are so cute!

Blog

This is me promising out loud I am going to be blogging again (with pictures). ASAP
I was contemplating stopping blogging all together, only because of how busy everything has gotten. But then I was thinking of family history and all of the photos I take. I WILL NOT scrap book and that leaves me blogging so that our future family will have something to read and see about our lives.
And so the posts will be coming I have a lot of catching up to do. Most of my post will probably be about Cooper since that is what our life has alot of.
Oh and we will be having a BOY in June, so very soon there will be two little rug rats to document! :)
I'm thrilled about this boy. Cooper is going to have a little buddy and I dont have to buy anything at all. Maybe some diapers and a double stroller! Oh and a breast pump this time around.
Happy New Year!! And Yay for new year resolutions!!
